Information

By logging on to the HN Identity Manager, you accept the currently valid Terms of Use
for the communication and data processing infrastructure provided by the I Department.

These Terms of Use govern the lawful and safe use of the services provided by the I Department. The Terms of Use are based on the legally defined tasks of the University. They lay down basic rules both for proper IT operations and for the use of the infrastructure provided by the I Department.

In particular, the following security rules apply:

You are obliged to change your password at regular intervals.
In the HN Identity Manager - for administrative and support purposes only - personal data concerning your identity (e.g. name, matriculation number, personnel number, etc.), your status (e.g. student, academic staff, external staff) and your organisational affiliation (e.g. degree programme, faculty, chair, administrative unit) are stored and forwarded to certain approved IT systems (e.g. Sciebo, Moodle). You can view the data you have saved at any time and in full in your login area.
In order to provide protection against unsolicited advertising mail (SPAM) and malware (viruses etc.), emails are rejected, marked, blocked or, if necessary, deleted by technical systems of the KIS Department, depending on the circumstances.
With the university account, students have access to all related services until 31 days after their exmatriculation.
After another six months the account will be deleted; contents (e.g. of the mailbox) will be deleted and connected systems will be deactivated.
